How Joytrada works
Buy and sell used discs and cartridges by post. Buyers see the real item before paying, and someone is accountable if it is not as described. These are the steps we plan to run at launch.
Payments, protection and shipping are not live yet. This page explains what we will run at launch.
Proof clip
Before shipping, the seller writes the listing code on paper, films it next to the disc or cartridge, then powers on the console until the game loads, without editing. Buyers can see the seller really has that item and that it plays.
For buyers
1Pick a game and look at the photos, the proof clip and the seller's reviews
2Pay through a licensed payment provider
3The seller ships. When it arrives, compare the code on the disc or cartridge with the photos and clip
4Got everything? Confirm. Problem? Report it within 3 days
For sellers
1List the game, add photos and set a price, with the sample price estimate as a guide
2Record a proof clip showing the listing code
3When someone buys, pack it, ship it and enter the tracking number
4You get paid once the buyer confirms they received everything

FAQ
How do I know I got the same disc as in the photo?
In the photos and clip, the seller shows the code printed on the disc or on the cartridge, such as the code around the inner ring of a disc or the number on a cartridge label, along with the handwritten listing code. When the item arrives, compare the code on what you received with the photos and clip. If they differ, take photos and report it within 3 days.
What if the seller never ships?
The seller is not paid until you confirm you received everything. If nothing arrives, report that you did not receive it and you get your money back.
What does the proof clip guarantee?
It shows the seller has that item in hand and that it played on the day of recording. It does not cover every detail, such as tiny scratches, but if what arrives does not match the listing you can still report it.
Why not just transfer money to the seller?
If you transfer directly and nothing arrives, nobody helps you get it back. Paying through a payment provider means the seller waits for your confirmation and there is a clear way to report problems.
How much is the service fee?
No rate has been set. Once it is, you will see it clearly before you buy or list, and before the real launch.
When does it open for real?
No date yet. This demo is to see how many people want it. Sign up and we will tell you when it opens.
What if the disc won't play or does not match the listing?
Report it within 3 days of receiving the item, with photos or a clip showing the problem. If it is a covered case, you get your money back.
